Maha Al-Balushi is the Director of Climate Mitigation at the Environment Authority of the Sultanate of Oman, with over 12 years of experience in climate policy, climate finance, and international climate negotiations. She serves as Oman’s National Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and has led national efforts related to mitigation, transparency reporting, carbon markets, and climate finance mobilization. Maha has played a key role in developing Oman’s climate strategies, including the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs), and Article 6 frameworks under the Paris Agreement. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Energy Transition and Sustainability, with a focus on climate resilience, sustainable finance, and energy transition pathways.
